The Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science announces the following vacancies:

Conditions for candidates

Within 30 days after the public advertisement candidates for filling the scientific vacancies should submit an application form and register it at the Personnel Service of the Institute with attached:

Persons, who are working in the Institute and being iteratively candidates, should submit an application form, a reference, signed by the Head of Laboratory and the list of published scientific and methodical papers.

Candidates should have scientific papers (published in the last 5 years) in domains relevant to the research directions of divisions, where the vacancies are advertised.

Candidates for Head of Laboratory position will present in the corresponding subdivision a program of activity for the next 4 years. Candidates for filling the Head of Laboratory vacancy will be voted by the corresponding subdivision staff on the laboratory meeting. The voting results are consultative in character.

Election of the scientific positions is made by the Scientific Council of the IMCS by equal, secret and free vote. The Scientific Council meeting is rendered competent, if at least 2/3 of its members are present. The Scientific Council by a simple majority open ballot approves the decision to include or not to include the corresponding candidates in the ballot paper. To organize election, the Scientific Council by open ballot chooses from its members the Vote Counting Committee. Each member of the Scientific Council votes one person from the list of candidates on the ballot paper to fill the corresponding position. Ballot papers, in which several candidates has been voted, are considered invalid. The presence of candidates at the Scientific Council meeting is not mandatory.

A candidate for Researcher, Senior Researcher, Leading Researcher, Principal Researcher, Scientific Secretary, Head of Laboratory position is considered elected, if obtains a simple majority (not less than 50 percent plus one vote) of votes of the total number of members of the Scientific Council, who has participated in the voting. If no candidate receives the required minimum of votes, the voting is repeated at the same meeting for the first 2 candidates with the highest number of votes (if there are more than 2 candidates) or for a candidate with the highest number of votes (if there are 2 candidates).

Complaints about the organization, carrying out and results of the scientific vacancies filling should be made on the second working day after the election in the office of the Institute and should be examined by the Scientific Council of the IMCS within 10 calendar days.

The person, who has won the election, will be engaged for the corresponding position on the basis of individual employment contract for the period of 4 years.

The person who is working at the IMCS and hasn't won the election or hasn't applied for participation is dismissed in accordance with the current legislation.

Qualification requirements for filling positions concerned with scientific research are set by the Code of the Republic of Moldova on Science and Innovations, as well as by the Qualification Requirements on Salary Categories for Scientific Researchers and Other Workers in Public Organizations in the Field of Science and Auxiliary Organizations in the Same Field of the Republic of Moldova (approved by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova on December 22, 2004, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova, in coordination with the Republican Council of the Trade Union of Education and Science of the Republic of Moldova).
