The world's governments did what Nobel hadn't done

The mercy of God and governing body of the Republic of Moldova has finally been given to the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova: a rain of state awards, recently given to a group of teaching staff from universities and schools on the occasion of World Teachers' Day and 60th anniversary of the foundation of the Tiraspol State University, has also reached two scientists in mathematics.

According to the Official Monitor of the Republic of Moldova of October 8, 2010, the Order of Honour was awarded to Academician Mitrofan Ciobanu, Head of the Department of algebra, geometry and topology of the Tiraspol State University located in Chisinau, President of Mathematical Society of the Republic of Moldova, for long and fruitful work in the field of higher education, for contribution to preparation of highly qualified specialists and for intensive scientific- methodical activity.

The Order of Labour Glory was awarded to Professor Alexei Kashu, principal researcher of the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, for long and fruitful work in the field of education, for contribution to improving the educational process and for intensive methodical-didactic and organizational activity.

For our part we would like to specify that these two mathematicians, first of all, are scientists, whose works are essentially referenced by the leading specialists from Austria, Hungary, Ukraine, Germany, Romania, Czech Republic, Sweden, Russia, etc. in their publications. The description in brief of these scientific results also can be found in the major review journals in the world (Mathematical Reviews, Zentralblatt MATH, Russian RZh Matematika).

It is known that a Swedish scientist and businessman Albert Nobel (1833-1896), the inventor of dynamite, in his famous last will and testament on establishing the Nobel Prizes, to be awarded after his death to researchers from various fields of science, who confer the greatest benefit on mankind, had deprived mathematicians of this right for a well known reason. In this context other world funds have decided to correct the consequences of this Nobel's grievance forever, instituting some international awards for mathematicians' guild. The world's governments, in their turn, give to mathematicians state awards for outstanding contribution in their scientific and professional activities.

Congratulations to Moldovan mathematicians!
