The institute also contributed to providing doctors of science for Algeria, Bulgaria, Germany, Syria, USA, Tadjikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam. The institute has two specialized scientific councils for conferring the academic degrees of doctor of science and doctor habilitat of science in mathematics and computer science. Scientific results of researchers of the institute are published in various specialized journals world wide and in two journals issued by the institute: "Buletinul Academiei de Stiinte a Republicii Moldova. Matematica" and "Computer Science Journal of Moldova". These two journals are distributed in more than 160 scientific centers and universities of 48 countries.

The Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science is situated in Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova, which is in South-Eastern Europe and belongs to countries of the Basin of the Black Sea. Chisinau is the main scientific, educational and cultural center of Moldova and one of the oldest and most important cities of the country. It has a long history, more of than 560 years, its population amounts to about 1 million. In Chisinau there are 30 universities and 15 centers of culture and arts. Chisinau has air communications with many countries of the world via various airline companies.

Post-graduate studies

The Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science offers each year post-graduate studies for 25 persons, from university graduates, in the following fields:

- Mathematical analysis (Operator theory: Prof. P.Cojuhari};
- Differential equations (Invariant methods in qualitative theory of differential equations, group analysis: Prof. N.Vulpe, Dr.h. M.Popa, Dr.V.Dryuma);
- Mathematical logic, algebra and number theory (Topological algebra, algorithmic problems of expressibility in propositional logics, structural theory of rings and modules, quasigroup theory: Prof. V.Arnautov, Prof. M.Ratsa, Prof. A.Kashu, Prof. Yu.Ryabukhin, Dr. G.Belyavskaya);
- Mathematical cybernetics (Optimization, graph theory: Prof. D.Lozovanu, Dr. V.Voloshin);

- Operations research, Decision Support Systems, Mathematical modelling (Dr.h. C.Gaindric).

An applicant may be admitted to the post-graduate study after passing 2 examinations on the base of a contract. The duration of a post-graduate course is 3 years. An applicant may take examination during a year. The cost of a year of a post-graduate course is 2000 USA.

Applications to post-graduate study may be submitted, as a rule, by September 1. An applicant must show the aptitude for research.
