FP7-REGPOT-2012-2013-1
In the context of activities to take advantage of opportunities arising as a result of the association to EU 7-th Framework Programme, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova together with the European Commission – DG Research and Innovation organized a video conference regarding call FP7-REGPOT-2012-2013-1 (Specific Programme "Capacities", Theme "Research Potential") on November 14, 2011.
This activity is focused on excellent research entities from the EU's Convergence regions (Moldova is now fully eligible for this Programme). The excellent research entities are selected to implement own research strategy, proposing an Action Plan, taking into account the SWOT analysis, in close cooperation with 'partnering organisations'.
The Action Plan should include the following coherent measures:
- Twinning through exchange of know-how and experience between the applicant and 'partnering organisations', as well as organisation of workshops and conferences;
- Recruitment by the applicant of experienced researchers, in this context the return of nationals having left the country is encouraged;
- Upgrading, development or acquisition of research equipment for the applicant, up to 30% of the total project budget;
- Elaboration of a strategic Intellectual Property development plan for IP management and protection and innovation capacity building;
- In addition, the applicant can optionally apply for evaluation of its research potential to determine the most appropriate ways and methods to preserve the applicant's 'excellence' and to explore its contribution to the regional/European sustainable development.
The main criteria – mono-applicant projects, involving cooperation with at least 3 outstanding research 'partnering organisations' established in at least 3 different Member States or Associated Countries, other than that of the applicant.
Important note: this is the last FP7 call – no more calls will be launched in 2012 (for the 2013 budget) because the budgets of the last two years are merged into a single call. Deadline: January 3, 2012.
