Abstract
Simple ternary semigroups are studied using idempotent pairs. The concept of primitive idempotent pairs is introduced and the connection between them and minimal left (right) ideals are studied. An example of ternary semigroups containing primitive idempotent pairs is given. Some simple ternary semigroups containing a primitive idempotent pair are characterized.Fulltext
