Abstract
Consider the set LC(X)=∪(U:U is open in X and clU is compact}. If X is a μ -complete space of pointwise type, NC(X)=X\LC(X) and |NC(X)|=1 then there exists a compactification bX of X with bX\X homeomorphic to [0,1). The case |NC(X)|=n is considered too.
