On LCA groups with compact rings of continuous endomorphisms. (English)

Abstract
We examine here the locally compact abelian (LCA) groups whose rings of continuous endomorphisms are compact in the compact-open topology. For certain subclasses $\Cal S$ of LCA groups, we give a compete description of groups in $\Cal S$ with this property.Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science
